REDLINE: The Last Tenth follows Luis Maier, a 17-year-old Austrian racing prodigy and member of the Red Bull Junior Team.

After years of karting and successful seasons in Formula 4 and Formula 3, Luis finally reaches Formula 2. He enters the championship as one of the youngest drivers on the grid, carrying enormous expectations from Red Bull while trying to prove that his talent is more than just hype.

His teammate is Ethan Cole, a 20-year-old British Red Bull Junior who has more experience and believes he deserves an F1 opportunity. Luis also faces longtime rival Matteo Rinaldi, as well as future Mercedes and Ferrari stars Noah Bergström and Lucas Moreau.

The F2 season becomes a battle between talent, experience, rivalry and pressure. Luis eventually earns a Formula 1 opportunity with Red Bull’s sister team, Racing Bulls, while Ethan narrowly misses out.

Luis’s first F1 season is anything but perfect. He shows flashes of incredible speed but struggles with consistency, sometimes fighting for podiums and other times barely scoring points. After the British Grand Prix, Red Bull makes a dramatic decision: Luis replaces struggling driver Julian Voss at the main team, making his Red Bull debut at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

His first race for Red Bull ends with an unexpected victory.

But Luis doesn’t suddenly become unbeatable. He continues to struggle with consistency as the pressure of driving for one of the world’s biggest teams begins to weigh on him.

Then comes the Austrian Grand Prix.

At the Red Bull Ring, in front of his home crowd, Luis delivers a dominant performance, taking pole position and winning the race in spectacular fashion. It becomes the defining moment of his rookie season.

At the same time, Luis’s promotion opens the Racing Bulls seat for Ethan, finally giving him the F1 opportunity he had been waiting for.

From there, the story follows Luis and his generation through the world of Formula 1—rivalries, teammates, friendships, relationships, contracts, crashes, victories, failures, media pressure and the constant fight to find the tiny advantage that separates a great driver from a World Champion.

Luis has the speed.
